Exist: 2.Setting up the domain and hosting

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to get a web-hosting account and a domain name. We’ve chosen hostinger.co.uk for hosting and dot.tk for domain name. As I’m sure, you checked out various hosting and domain services online and found out that you need to pay. To keep it simple and in everyone’s reach, we decided to use dot.tk for domain name. It is a free domain service and is easy to get.
To keep it simple and in everyone’s reach, we decided to use dot.tk for domain name. It is a free domain service and is easy to get.
First we start with the domain name:
1)      Go to Dot.tk and enter the name you want to, in the bar. It will search the internet to see if the name you entered is already taken or not. Simple procedure if you think about it. Just like you cannot just move into someone’s home, you need to make sure it’s available in the market, you check first if the name you want is available or not.
2)      If the domain name you entered in step 1 is available, go to step 3. If it’s not available and you get an error, you need to try another name.
3)      In the section where it says “forward new domain to”, enter any website you want. We’ll fix this later. I type in Google.com.

4) )Now select how long you want to keep it registered to your name. After that time, you will have to renew it.
5)      Now sign-up for the website.
6)      Pat yourself on the shoulder, you just registered your domain name!

And now, you need to get yourself a hosting account:

1)      Go to hostinger.co.uk at the top right corner you can see where to login/signup. If you chose to sign-up using Facebook or Gmail, skip the next step.

2)      Click on “Create account” and scroll to the middle of the page. There you can see the sign-up form.

3)      Now you’re logged in. Select your hosting plan. We chose the free plan (obviously).

4)      With that done, you have to set up your hosting account. It’s a matter of few seconds, really. Where it says “Chose a domain type” make sure it’s set to “Domain” and not “Subdomain”. If it’s not set, click on it to change it. Now enter your domain name, the one you made earlier on the dot.tk website.
5)     Enter a password or if you’re feeling lazy click on the generate password button and it will make one for you. After you’re done with the password, click on continue.
6)      Check the “I’m not a robot” button on the next page and click “Order”.
7)      Your account has been created. Make sure the status is active in the table in front of you. You may need to wait a few minutes and refresh the page. Once it’s active, your account is ready!

Good job! Now for some complex stuff. Don’t be scared, I’ve got your back on this. Just follow my footsteps:

1)      Click on the plus sign next to your domain name, and select “Manage”.

2)      Now on this page, select “Details”.

3)      On this page, you should be able to see the nameserver details. Copy these details.

4)      Now go to your dot.tk and login.

5)      Go to Domains -> My Domains and from there, click on manage.

6)      Here, go to Management Tools -> Nameservers.

7)      Select use custom nameservers and enter the nameservers you copied from your hosting account and click on “change nameservers”.

That’s it! You’ve done it! You’ve set up your hosting and registered a domain name! Isn’t that amazing? What’s about to come next is way more exciting. In the next tutorial, we’ll teach you how to create a website! Can’t wait, can you?
